Thank You for Being a Friend, ˜Golden Girls Parody

To feel the love for “The ,” one of the best-written and -acted of the ’80s and ’90s, you have only to see the capacity crowd gathered for “Thank You for Being a Friend,” at the Laurie Beechman Theater on Wednesdays.

A woman at my table announced before the show that she could recite whole passages from the series. So you have to wonder what that audience takes away from this drag , directed by Nick Brennan, which is so raunchy and overwrought, it’s hard to call it affectionate.
